Greenwich, a borough steeped in history, is the place where east meets west on the Meridian Line. The town is bustling with great atmosphere fostered by the markets, a comedy clubs, pubs, clubs and restaurants. The Cutty Sark is also located on the banks of the Thames by the heart of this bustling borough. Additionally, Greenwich is home to one of London’s finest Royal Parks, the National Maritime Museum and the 17th Century Royal Observatory.

The University can trace its roots back to as early as 1890 and today is proud to be one of the leading modern universities. The Maritime Greenwich Campus is based in the Old Royal Naval College on the banks of the River Thames, in Greenwich.

The campus benefits from the great 17th century architectural buildings of the Old Royal Naval College which it offers to the London Open House architectural festival annually. Centred on three magnificent buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren and one by James "Athenian" Stuart, the campus boasts some of London’s finest Grade 1 listed buildings, and forms part of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site.

The grand sequence of buildings was planned towards the end of the 17th Century as a hospital for retired seamen.
Formerly, the site had been occupied by a royal palace; the birthplace of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.

This beautiful campus stands in the heart of historic Greenwich, at the foot of Greenwich Park, opposite the National Maritime Museum and close to the bustling town.
